This is a very elaborate design has a scene on both sides with 2 side foo dog handles a top foo dog handle for the removable lid and 3 leg foo dogs. This measures approximatly 14" tall by 9" wide Condition has a few hair line cracks or repairs on top edge, lid and leg, hard to notice it, I don't see any makers marks on it. NO RESERVE. Beautifuly detailed antique silver (sugar?) bowl by Wang Hing. Wang Hing & Co were the prolific Chinese silversmiths between 1870 - 1940, producing some of the best high grade Chinese export silver ever produced. This bowl has 6 higly decorated sections, 2 sections of each design, they consist of Dragons, Bamboo & Birds and group of men playing a game. The signature on the base is WH and a 90. The dimensions are: 3" High and 5" diameter I haven't cleaned the bowl as I will leave that to the next custodian, the overall condition is good to excellent, however, as you will see from the pictures the base and the rim of the bowl have been slightly "pulled" out of a perfect circle, I am sure that this is something easily rectified by a good silversmith. This is a Japanese sword in remount project sword. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, Edo period ca.1800 era made. The blade is old polish, no rust, no stain and in good condition. There is no nick, no bend, no opening, no crack temper and cutting edge is sharp. The wavy temper line is chu-suguba temper troughout the blade and has ko-maru temper at the tips. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no opening, no forging flaws at all. The scabbard is Edo period made, shows aged worn out condtion and need restore. The handle is covered with ray-skin and metal fittings are not presented. The tsuba is marugata iron tsuba with nice patina. It measures 27 1/8" tip to the end of habaki, 26 1/2" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 7mm thickness at the notch, 3/4" curvature and 39" in mountings. This is good for remounting project or use for cutting practice as it is. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S.

This is a Japanese sword in type 98 mountings. The blade is signed "Hizen koku ju Kanemoto saku ???????, shinogi-zukuri shape. Kanemoto's real name is Motomura Kanesaku, born in 1907, lived in Saga prfecture made swords as a gendai smith during WWll time period (ca.1940) and after the war. The blade is traditional handforged, water tempered blade, in original WWll time polish, shows aged tiny scratches on surface but no rust, no stain and in near mint condition. The temper line is wavy chu-suguba with ko-nie(crystal) temper pattern and has deep turn back temper at the point. The tight itame-hada forging is clearly visible throughout the blade and no forging flaws at all. There is no nick, no bend, no opening, no crack temper and cutting edge is very sharp. The scabbard is heavy metal scabbard, shows tiny lacquer loss but no dent, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose also in good condition. The tsuba and seppa are matched number 139 stamped. The lock pin mechanism works perfect and tight fit to the scabbard. The blade measures 28 1/2" tip to the guard, 27 1/2" cutting edge , 1+1/4" width, 7.5mm thickness at the notch and 39 1/2" in mountings.
