This is a Japanese sword wakizashi blade with scabbard. The blade is signed "Sukemitsu ?? " shinogi-zukuri shape, muromachi period ca.1550 era made. The blade is in old polish, shows light stains on surface but no deep rust and in good condition. There is no nick, no bend, no crack temper and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy gunome mix with nie (crystal) active temper throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada, no forging flaws at all. The scabbard is Edo period made, recentely relacquered, no dent, no crack and in good condition. The handle is worn out and need to fix. It is polishing and remounting project sword and sell as is. It measures 19 7/8" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 6.5mm thickness at the notch, and 5+3/4" tang. Shipping is $15 priority in U.S.
